“New Friends” provides clean polished lyrics over a smooth beat. The song looks into the topic of people who want to become friends only when they see it as an opportunity. Benks goes on to "Big Up" all his real friends, paying tribute that those who have been real friends throughout his life.

Benks is currently performing at various events around Jamaica. He has also made cameo appearances in music videos and many high profile sessions.

March 22, 2010, Kingston, Jamaica - Fresh off the buzz of his  remix of John Legend’s “If You’re Out There”, Benks  recently released a new single titled "Live Right.

“Live Right” is another conscious song from the young artist, who consistently breaks the monotony of other dancehall artists with his choice of topics, wordplay and melodies. The song was produced by Dwayne “Dugsy” Dawkins for the Kingston 11 Productions label.

Benks is Jamaica’s next big artist. The 22 year old hails from Islington, St. Mary but has been residing in Kingston since the age of 8. Benks discovered and developed his musical prowess by performing within the church at an early age. His inspirations come from musical icons such as Bob Marley and Beres Hammond, as well as lyricist Eminem and Vybz Kartel.

New Single: Deejay Benks releases new single "Wise Up"

Kingston Jamaica: February 26, 2010: After gaining attention from his previous singles “Man a Pree” featuring Chick Chock and “Way She Wines” featuring Anthony Que, Jamaican Deejay Benks returns with another smash hit. Released on the Kingston 11 Productions Label, Benks delivers “Wise Up", a catchy and powerful song encouraging youths to get smart about the gun culture that many have embraced. "It's a wakeup call," Benks states. "Too many of today’s youths are brain washed and misguided."

The song is recorded on the “Contemplation” riddim, a bouncy dancehall rendition with eerie strings, highlighting the song’s creative lyrics and melodies. “Wise up” is produced by Dwayne “Dugsy” Dawkins and executive produced by Adrian Thompson for Kingston 11 Music Group.

The single has already started to receive airplay from various radio, sound system and internet sites both locally and internationally. It has also featured on various reggae and dancehall mix tapes. “Wise Up” has been requested for jingles, dub plates and specials.

Benks recently signed a management and production contract with Kingston 11 Music Group and is currently in studio recording material for his untitled upcoming mix tape.

Kingston 11 Recording Studio Now Open

Over looking Kingston and St. Andrew, in the cool hills of Chancery Hall, Kingston 11 Productions state-of-the-art analog/ digital recording studio is now officially open.  The Studio combines a comfortable, home-like atmosphere with top quality recording equipment providing the ideal atmosphere for musical creation without the hassles that comes along with mainstream studios.

“A number of top recording artists have laid down vocals at Kingston 11 including Gyptian, Anthony B and Lutan Fyah to name a few,” says Kingston 11’s in-house producer Dugsy. “Many top tracks have also been mixed at the studio.”

Privacy is the name of the game at Kingston 11 Studios, allowing creativity while keeping out outside ears and the worries of the outside world.

Kingston 11 caters to local and international artists and producers, its modern design and stunning view create a relaxed atmosphere and perfect mood for musical creativity.

The studio provides the perfect blend of analog and digital top quality gear, featuring a Soundtrac CMX analog console integrated with a Digidesign Control 24 control surface. It is also equipped with Pro Tools HD and numerous top industry plug-ins. Outboard gear includes a Summit dual tube preamp and an original Universal Audio 1176N compressor. The spacious voice room was designed by Auralex for perfect isolation and recording of vocals and instruments.

Additional features include a lounge, entertainment center and kitchen. Rooms are also availavle on the premises for international and out of town clients.
